Killarney in spring is something else
The National Park alone is worth the trip. Everything is so green and the lakes are stunning. Muckross House is a must-see. People here are genuinely welcoming and the town itself is easy to get around.
Great base for exploring the Ring of Kerry
Used Killarney as our starting point and it worked perfectly. The town has loads of good pubs and restaurants on New Street after long days of driving. The scenery around every corner is just ridiculous. Highly recommend renting a car and heading out early.
Loved every bit of it
Killarney totally won me over. The Gap of Dunloe is breathtaking and the horse-drawn jaunting cars are a fun way to get around. Food was hearty and good value. The whole place has a relaxed feel that I really needed.
Perfect Irish getaway
The pubs here are the real deal - live traditional music most nights and the locals are so friendly. Tried the Irish stew and brown bread everywhere and never got tired of it. Killarney town is compact and walkable which makes it super easy.
Stunning lakes and great craic
Took a boat across Lough Leane and it was genuinely one of the highlights of the whole trip. The water is so clear and the mountains in the background make it look unreal. Killarney punches way above its size for things to do.
Ireland at its most beautiful
Killarney in December is quiet but cozy. The Christmas lights in town were lovely and the pubs were warm and welcoming. Muckross Abbey in the mist looked incredible. The whole area has a raw natural beauty that photos just don't capture properly.
